Laptop Screen Replacement Cost in Cincinnati — Full Honest Breakdown

June 24, 2026  ·  5 min read  ·  By Cincinnati PC Repair LLC

Cracked laptop screens are one of the most common repairs we handle at Cincinnati PC Repair LLC — and the question we hear first is always the same: is it worth fixing, and what's it going to cost?

The honest answer: in most cases, yes it's worth it — and the cost is significantly lower than most Cincinnati residents expect. Here's the complete breakdown.

What affects laptop screen replacement cost?

Three factors determine price: the laptop brand and model, the screen resolution and panel type, and whether the damage extends beyond the screen itself (hinges, cable, or bezel).

Most Cincinnati laptop screen replacements fall into one of three tiers:

Budget tier — $99 to $139 (parts + labor)

This covers most entry-level and mid-range laptops with standard 1080p screens: Acer Aspire and Nitro series, HP 15/17 series, Lenovo IdeaPad, older Dell Inspiron, and most Chromebooks. These screens are widely available and fast to replace — most are done same day.

Most common in Cincinnati: HP 15-series and Lenovo IdeaPad screens are by far the most frequent replacements we do. Both typically land in the $109 to $129 range all-in.

Mid tier — $139 to $189 (parts + labor)

This covers business and upper-mid laptops: HP Envy, HP Spectre, Dell Inspiron 14/15 5000 series, Lenovo ThinkPad E and L series, ASUS VivoBook and ZenBook, and Microsoft Surface Laptop Go. Slightly more expensive screens, similar turnaround.

Premium tier — $179 to $279 (parts + labor)

High-resolution displays, OLED panels, and gaming laptop screens. This includes Dell XPS 13/15, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon, ASUS ROG and TUF series, MSI gaming laptops, Razer Blade, and MacBook Pro (non-Retina older models). The screens themselves cost significantly more — and some require more disassembly time.

What about touch screens?

Touchscreen replacements add $30 to $80 to the above prices because the touch digitizer is either bonded to the screen or requires a separate part. 2-in-1 convertible laptops like HP Envy x360, Lenovo Flex, and Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 all fall into this category.

How long does screen replacement take?

Most laptop screen replacements in Cincinnati are completed the same day — typically 1 to 2 hours once we confirm the correct screen is in stock. For less common models we may need to source the part first, which typically adds 1 to 2 business days.

Call or text us at (513) 485-5743 with your laptop model before coming in — we can usually confirm parts availability and give you an exact quote in under 5 minutes.

Is it worth repairing my cracked screen?

If the repair cost is less than 40% of what you'd pay for a comparable replacement laptop — and your machine is under 6 years old and otherwise working well — screen replacement almost always makes financial sense.

A $129 screen replacement that gets you another 3 years from a laptop beats buying a $500 replacement every time. We'll always give you an honest recommendation — including if we think buying new makes more sense in your situation.
